Look at the fantastic print that is on my new dress! Which I got for 50% off AND was free since I used part of my gift card that I won for the Passionflower Easter bonnet contest. Some days you win at shopping. ๐Ÿ’‹

I am so jealous of all the yarn you acquire. So pretty. What company does the best silk yarn? Oh and bamboo yarn?

Thanks! I don’t know what company makes the best “x” yarn. I just buy what I like. Or if I can’t find it the color I want, I dye it. Your LYS (local yarn shop) is usually the best place to shop if you’re wanting to find good quality yarn. Plus you can touch it and ask the sales people about it. You’ll soon start to learn what types of fiber and brands you prefer.

Also, if you’re not on Ravelry I highly recommend joining. Along with having patterns, a place to store your project notes and a fantastic community, you can search yarns. I find this tool especially helpful if I’m wanting to buy yarn online but am unsure. Or if I buy a skein of something in a store with no idea what to knit with it. I type that yarn into Ravelry and see what other knitters/crocheters have done with it. And can see from actual project pictures how it knits up.

Hope that helps!

I had some of this leftover yarn that I dyed with Kool Aid (I call it Bird of Paradise) and wasn’t sure what to do with it. I ended up striping it with some soft grey to make this hat by Leethal. To add more flair to it I needle felted hearts over the ears.ย Becauseย of the aviator style of the hat and the red hearts I call this hat my Amelia EarHEART hat.
